Avoiding the Overflow: Managing Ramp Capacity
You have 9 slots. Don't waste them. Strategies to manage the Artifact Limit on the Ramp.
Avoiding the Overflow: Managing Ramp Capacity
In DECODE, the “Ramp” (Scoring Area) can only hold 9 Artifacts. If you place a 10th artifact, it falls off. Zero Points.
The Problem
Teams get “Tunnel Vision”. They just cycle as fast as possible. Suddenly, the ramp is full, and they wasting time scoring points that don’t count.
The Solution: The “Clear Out”
The “Bucket” mechanic allows you to score the artifacts FROM the ramp into the Bucket.
- Ratio: You need to empty the ramp every 4-5 cycles.
- Role: Designate one robot as the “Scorer” (fills the ramp) and one as the “Bucket” (clears the ramp).
Communication
“Ramp at 7!” “Ramp at 8!” “FULL! DUMP DUMP DUMP!” Your coach must be counting.
Conclusion
A full ramp is a stopped heart. Keep the flow moving.
