Can a Robot Paint a Picture?

If you give a robot a paintbrush, can it make a masterpiece? Yes and no!

There are robot arms that hold paintbrushes and recreate beautiful paintings on canvas! However, the robot isn’t ‘creative’ the way a human is. The robot is just following mathematical X and Y coordinates given to it by a computer programmer.

But recently, computers have gotten so smart they can generate brand new digital images from thousands of photos.

Building robots is actually a form of art! Designing cool shapes and colorful mechanisms is highly encouraged when you build a robot on a FIRST® Robotics team.
